Lomazov has established herself as
one of the most passionate and charismatic performers on the concert

with the Charleston (SC) Symphony Orchestra, the Bollington Festival
Orchestra in England, and recitals at the University of Houston and the
Arizona Friends of Chamber Music in Tucson.
Before immigrating to the United States in
1990, Marina studied at the Kiev Conservatory where she became the
youngest First Prize Winner at the all-Kiev Piano Competition. Dr. Lomazov
holds degrees from the Juilliard School and the Eastman School of Music,
the latter bestowing upon her the highly coveted Artist’s Certificate
– an honor the institution has not given a pianist for nearly two
decades. Her principal teachers include Natalya Antonova, Barry Snyder,
and Jerome Lowenthal.
Ms. Lomazov is a frequent guest artist at
music festivals at the U.S. and abroad, including the Moulin d’Andé
Arts Festival (France), Northwest Piano Festival (OR), Wassermann Piano
Festival (UT), Grand Teton Music Festival (WY), and the Brevard Music
Festival (NC). She has been featured on the "Bravo" Canada cable
channel, and her live performances are broadcast regularly on pubic radio
stations including such programs as NPR’s "Performance Today",
"Young Artist Showcase" on New York’s WQXR, "Morning pro
musica" and "Classics in the Morning" on Boston’s WGBH,
and the Dame Myra Hess concert series on Chicago’s WFMT. In 2007 Centaur
Records will release Ms. Lomazov’s debut CD of music by Rodion Shchedrin.
Currently Ms. Lomazov is Assistant Professor
of Piano on the faculty at the University of South Carolina School of
Music, where she is also the Artistic Director of the Southeastern Piano
Festival as well as serving on the artist faculty at the Brevard Music
Center in NC. The Hilton Head International Piano Competition in South
Carolina has invited Ms. Lomazov to be a juror for their 2008 competition
to be held in March.
